What is cupping therapy?

  • Cupping therapy is an ancient traditional method whose goal is to release tension and stagnation accumulated in the body and to stimulate the flow of energy. During the treatment, special glass or silicone cups are placed on the skin, creating a vacuum effect that increases blood and lymph circulation and helps remove toxins from the connective tissues.

Ancient origins

  • The roots of cupping go back to ancient China and the Middle East. Even ancient physicians used this method to support the body's self-healing processes. In Chinese medicine, cupping helps restore the balance of the meridian system, acting not only on the physical but also on the energetic level. It has been used for thousands of years to relieve muscle pain, inflammation, and circulation problems.

Positive effects

  • Cupping therapy improves blood flow, releases muscle tension, reduces inflammation, and supports regeneration. The colors that appear after the treatment tell a lot about the body’s condition: the darker and stronger the marks, the more significant the problem may be – this can indicate deep muscle adhesions, overloaded or inflamed areas. As the colors fade, the tissues cleanse and recover.

Why I combine it with chiropractic treatment

  • Chiropractic treatment and cupping perfectly complement each other. While chiropractic restores the symmetry and joint harmony of the body, cupping deeply relaxes the muscles, releases adhesions and tension. The looser the muscle, the freer the joint movement – and the longer-lasting the results. In my experience, combining these two methods provides faster recovery and more sustainable improvement.

Important notes

  • After cupping therapy, the treated area should not be soaked in hot water; wellness, sauna, and direct sunlight should be avoided until the marks have completely faded. It’s also important to follow all contraindications, which are listed in detail on my website – this ensures a safe and effective treatment.

In short: cupping and chiropractic treatments together serve the deeper release of the body. One aligns the joints, the other relaxes the muscles – helping the body regain its natural balance, flexibility, and energy.
